New Mattress? Where to buy?

Can anyone help me with the best place to buy a new mattress? I don't have a camping world near me. Would online be best. Any thoughts on your experience's is appreciated.

We purchased a great mattress at a local 1-800-mattress store. It was a short queen size and about twice as thick as the original mattress. Cost was about $500. Only complaint is that we waited too long to buy it.

Not sure what MH and bed you have. Ours is standard queen and can get mattress at any mattress store. When we bought one for our previous Dolphin, we drove the MH to the mattress store after we had selected one and they took the old one out and put the new one in. No hassle for me.

Our Tradewinds has a full sized queen. We replaced our mattress at a mattress store. It is much better than the one that came with the RV. We had the same experience as the previous poster. Pulled in the parking lot in front of the store and swapped out the mattresses. The only problem was getting the new mattress in with the slide in.

We HATED our Sleep Number bed and replaced it with a Beautyrest... just like in the stick house. Bought it at a local mattress store. They delivered it to the CG we were staying.

Love it.

Go to your local bed store and pick the one YOU feel is the best.

You didn't say what model year your NRV coach is, but our first unit was a 2001 and from there forward the beds were standard 60X80 queen's.

Mattress

You should have a standard 60"x80" queen mattress. You can buy at any mattress store. You will only buy the mattress, not including the box spring. Aks them to place the mattress on the floor, or other hard surface as your mattress sits on a plywood board in the RV. Get the thickest one. Pillow top style is very nice!

Even though I was familiar with you and your rig, not everyone is, so always state what make, model, year, etc. of your RV. Those details make the difference between educated advice, and a guess!

Happy Trails!

On my 05 Dolphin the matress couldn't be moe than 9" thick because when the slide is in it goes under the closet. I found a memory foam matress at overstocks .com and its the best matress we own.

Thanks everyone. I just got the MH home yesterday. I will measure the mattress. I wasn't aware you could buy a short from a regular mattress store.
Also, I will try to edit my signature so it includes the details on my MH.

Love this forum.
Thanks again.

I just measured and it is a full queen 60X80. And you were right on with the 9in max height for the same reason. I'm thankful you pointed that out so i didn't make that mistake.

Thanks.

Air beds work well, since they will compress to meet the 9" lip.
