Newbie gets into it with some serious reno's

Hi guys, i have a 96 National Tropical. I bought it a few weeks back and have been living in it in my driveway trying to find out its issues before i officially move into it on the 15th of july. I have found the following issues. 1, it had some mice living in it at some past point., those suckers poo everywhere!
2. it had major leaking at some point. and there are a few random damp points, bordering dry rot. 3 there are a # of plumbing issues , mainly the backwater tank is leaking and its not from the toilet seal.3 it needs rear swaybar bushings and 4 i think my tires are slightly dry rotted.it was fun finding access to the the black tank here are some pics

Dont feel bad, my 96 seabreeze, EVERY sliding window leaked at least some! Doing a temporary fix till I can find new seals! Had a mouse that had moved out but left his home and poop by the waterheater so when the window leaked the water soaked into his nest and the whole place smelled like dead mouse!! Eww!

Rvlivin....I'm not sure how bad your mouse problem is, but I'd take it very seriously. Hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) or just hantavirus is not to be messed with. Look it up on the CDC website. There are personal protection equipment that you can get and a mixture of beach/water to dilute.

Sorry to be such a downer, but I dealt with HPS when I worked in the military and went to remote missile sites. It's just a pain in the but if you are aware of handling HPS, but it can be deadly if you didn't know HPS was even a possibility.

My guess is that you will be in the pain in the but camp.

Best of luck!!

We found a rat nest in our battery compartment....Its amazing where those critters like to nest! Luckily it was not in the actual coach. Good luck!
