can anyone explain the chassis battery duties? I have a continuing problem of these guys going dead in a week or two In the chassis battery compartment I see to large breakers, I have now thrown them to see what happens. I'm recharging the batteries at 50A. I wonder if and how much juice the steps pull when left down and the coach shut off, I have yet to find a way to turn off the step light when the door is left open. I am not the guy to do electrical stuff, I hate it.

Steve,
Some dash radio/DVD systems may have a selectable power source to use either coach or chassis batteries. Mine has a rocker switch on the dash which actually has 3 positions: chassis, coach, and off.
Only once, recently, did I forget to place this switch in the off position. Sure enough one month later was the first time I had discharged batts.

Your CO detector is most likely powered off of the chassis side also. Not sure about your model MH but as for the light under the steps most lights will go off after 5 MIN. when the door is left open. Check your owners manuel and the manufactures spec sheet for function and opperation. Also go to the main IRV2 page and do a search for ( parasitic drain ) you will find lots of information on BAT. drain
