Pacifica 40E question..110 electric plugs

Just took our first long trip and we found that all of the 110v plugs with the exception of the one on the dash would not work unless the generator was running or shore power was hooked up. We spoke to the selling dealer and they said that they should work when just using house batteries.

If you own a Pacifica, can you confirm if your 110v electric plugs work when operating on battery power only?

Our coach has a xantrex freedom inverter and the inverter/charger panel shows a full charge on the house batteries. And the charger works. I've tried cycling the inverter off and on, checked the GFI resets, checked all of the breakers....

Any ideas?

You cannot get 120V out of 12V unless you use the inverter, and then depending on how it's wired only some of the 120V plugs may work.

As mentioned, the Inverter must be ON. There are usually a few push-button Breakers on the face of the Inverter ... try resetting those.

Inverter is on. All breakers reset. Need a response from another Pacifica owner to confirm which ones should be working on Battery/inverter power.

While you are waiting ... does the outlet in the dash (the one that works) have power if the Xantrex Inverter is OFF? If so, it's possible that the outlet has a small separate inverter installed (sometimes done for a laptop computer or cell phone charger).

I have the 40 c model, the microwave plug and tv plugs should work off the inverter. double check all the GFI plugs. there should b a 110v plug in the front console area that works off the inverter. PM me if u have any other questions.

The Microwave and TV works off of the inverter as does the 12v/110 electrical plug on the dash

There are two outlets at the vanity, one in the powder room, two in the kitchen, (one under the wall cabinet and one on the end of the base cabinets) and one by the passenger seat up front. None of these work on inverter power and my GFI's are all set properly. All of these plugs work when the genset is running or when hooked up on shore power.

Inverters are not normally connected to power all plugs, just a select few as RDAYZ posted.

ChBoone, that's what I'm trying to determine. The dealer told me that they should all work. But I can't find anything conclusive in the owners manual.

That's why I'm trying to find the answer from another Pacifica 40E owner. It's just interesting that they would only have one electrical plug available to use when on inverter power and its on the dash. We found this out because DW wanted to have a crockpot going while we were going down the highway.

Thanks for the feedback y'all. hopefully I can get a conclusive answer without having to pay the mechanic $90/hour to check it out.

How many watt inverter do you have. If it's 1000w than not all the outlets will work. If it's a 2000w then most of the outlets should work. I have a 2000w inverter with four 6-volt house batteries and all of the outlets work except the outlet for the frig. Also, the hot water heater does not work on electric if only the inverter is on.

Awhile back a member here posted a guys name and phone number that worked at National RV before they closed. He now works for Colton RV. I'll see if I can find the post.

There is a gfi in the basement that I found and not all plugs work while just using inverter. Good luck!
