My wife and I just returned home after about three weeks of travelling, always in daylight, never turned the lights on. Everything was fine when we stopped at home, then we moved the motorhome and then the beeper started, telling us that the lights were on. We needed to drain the tanks, get things unloaded but the beeping wouldn't stop. I disconnected the ground of all the batteries and the beeping continued. I reconnected the batteries and wanted to pull some fuses, but couldn't find the interior fuse block. From the exterior fuse block I pulled a 50 amp lighting fuse, a 50 amp battery fuse and two 5 amp tail light fuses. This turned off everything except the front parking lights and the five overhead clearance lights. That is how it is right now. I Plugged the motorhome into shore power so that the battteries wouldn't go dead and so that the furnace could run. This is a 2005 Seabreeze XL on a workhorse chassis.
It seems like the interior fuse panel was under the panel left of the driver where the cup holder and leveling jack controls are on my 2002 seabreeze.
Anyone ever have this problem?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You should have a access panel on top of the dash foward of the steering wheel, above the spedo and gages.

Thanks Richard. I was about to try to crawl under the dash when I read your message. I have pulled several fuses, but the beeping alarm does not stop unless the ignition is on.

JUST CURIOUS: If you disconnected all the ground cables; how can a beeper still function? I dealt with auto electrics (12v.) for 40+ years and when the cable is disconnected the whole the system is dead.Strange

Thanks again Richard. I'm going to go play with it again now and see if anything has changed since yesterday.

It sounds like you may have a bad headlight switch. The beeping only occurs when the ignition is off and the lights [or parking lights] are left on to let you know to turn the lights off.

When you disconnected the ground on the batteries, did you also disconnect the ground on the chassis battery?

Bill

I just disconnected the headlight switch and the parking lights came on as soon as I reconnected the battery. I must have missed one wire at first, when the lights stayed on with, what I believed, all the grounds disconnected. I really thought unplugging the headlight switch would work. Thanks for your thoughts Bill.

Just a thought....Have you recently done any work on your trailer hitch wiring?

Bill

WSRG, You've got it. I have a six wire cable from the motorhome to the dingy. It was unplugged when we disconnected the dingy and the dingy end stowed in the open end of an aluminum ladder that we carry. there was a short in that end of the cable and grounding that connector on the ladder turned on the lights. The cable has four wires for lights and two for brakes, one of which is hot. Anyway, I learned a lot about the dash board and everything should be fine once I put a new connector on that cable.
