Phone Jack Receptacles

I have a 2008 Pacifica. If your unit is anything like mine you have several hard wire phone jack receptacles scattered about the interior. Are there any electronic or communication uses to which this wiring network can be converted? If so how did you do the conversion?

RV makers put phone jacks EVERYWHERE in our '07 too. They must have thought cell phones were just a fad.

And back then, many campgrounds had phone lines at each full hook-up site.

Fast forward to now... We have used the jacks for 2 things:

Intercom (ditched as our RV isn't big enough to demand it):
Simple Intercom From a Pair of Old Corded Phones | Make:

Surveillance (like safety while driving - checking on the other end of the coach - or exterior blind spot while camping):
These use the phone wire for the cable run...plug and play.
Weatherproof Color Security Camera with Night Vision

Monitor and camera can be located anywhere using any jack...even connected into the TV system. They work well and are very affordable.

Best luck

I have been converting mine to duplex AC outlets.
I use 10/3 tinned boat cable. It is flexible and I find it easier to work with than what the factory used for this application.
I also use Home Depot shallow surface mount blue boxes in the hole.
So far, I can't figure out a use for one above the table so it's getting a blank cover soon.
