Has anybody disassembled the plastic compartment doors? My 2000 SeaView has several cracks in the ABS and I want to rebuild them out of aluminum sheet and angle. The doors appear to be two separate parts, an inner liner that the struts attach to and the outer part that is defective. Any help would be appreciated. I don't think welding is a viable option.

Yes we have tried to take apart our doors. We are in the process right now of having a fiberglass guy make us molds for new doors. We have 3 of them finished. We thought we could just have the outer skin done and then take the old door apart and use the inside. WRONG! We couldnt get the back of the door apart from the front. What ever glue NRV used is amazing. We ended up have the skin made and then filling in the inside with that hard blue foam board, then we took the plastic stuff that they put on shower walls and attached that to it. It looks like amazing and like most of the inside of other rv doors. Ths is a picture of the outside. Dont have one of the inside yet. Oh and the best part is the doors are only costing 200-250 apiece instead of the 600-800 that the other place is charging.

We are actually gonna to replace all of ours, we have cracks in everyone of them. Here is a picture of the back. If yours are the same size we would have the molds, they are not perfect but look a lot better then before.

your doors look great. mine are also cracked caused by subzero temperatures every winter. hang onto those molds--ortega manfacturing is too pricey for replacements. you may be getting some requests. the freight charges to Indiana for me probably would be cost prohibitive.
