Ever wondered what it is like to see your coach on the back of a tow rig.
Well, here is what it looks like....trust me, it looks worse if you are the owner of the rig in question.

If you have ever wondered as to the cost of a tow such as this:
$350 to Hook up the Class A to the Tow truck.
$3.50 per mile.

Great looking rig, too bad it has the ugly growth on the front of it.
I had mine towed and it is an ugly experience. Looking at yours I hope you took off the rock guard at that angle looks like it could have been damaged.
I'm sentive to that situration as I ruined 4 before Fleetwood got it right on where and how to hang it. Mine cost $1250 to be towed 65 miles. It was under warranty
I will always have tow insurance just for that reason. It is staggering the cost of it
and I still wonder sometimes if the tow driver got the yoke backon and tighten correctly. Good Luck with yours

The tow truck operator pulled off the mud flap and we slipped it into the basement for storage.
One nice thing about this tow operator, one of his first questions was "Have you ever had this or a past Class A motorhome towed before" He then said he only asked because he know there was a lot of questions and concerns to the coach owner and he wanted to put you at ease before he began hooking up.

Just how do you tow with the rear wheels still on the ground without damage to the drivetrain? Can't do it with my MH. Says so in the manual.

Two ways to do it one remove drive shaft. Or remove one of rear axles.

What was the problem that caused you to require a tow? Just had our coach towed over 100 miles when we lost the radiator. Did not want to watch so we went ahead and waited at the shop for the rig to arrive.

If there is enough interest, I could do a small write up as to how a towing process should be done.
I called Freightliner and asked a lot questions before the tow operator arrived. Freightliner was very helpful as to what to watch for and double check.

I understand the not being able to watch the entire tow. We were in Kerrville, TX, the coach was towed to Freightliner San Antonio. We climbed into the Jeep and drove back home just south of Dallas.

When I started the coach to prepare to depart I could smell the strong odor of diesel. When I went out to check things out, I had diesel running from under the coach. It was coming from the top of the fuel tank.

Looks like the problem is animal related from the initial contact with Freightliner. They said the return fuel line looked to have been chewed in a few different places. They also informed me that they can hear an air line leak and suspect again that a little rodent may have been chewing along the line.

We have had to be towed three times since last spring. None of them were pleasant to watch. At least we have towing insurance. Best money I ever spent.

That's good. He knew what he was doing. Good luck on the fix.
