Power Gear Control Panel/Retract

Thought I would float this out there... has anyone had any problems with the control pad buttons. My retract button has become intermittent, works some times, lately, getting worse. I have been having to start the RV to get the safety switch to retract the hydraulics.... but.... my fear is that sometime in the future I will have an RV up on stilts!! 1997 Dolphin with this control pad. Any suggestions?

That started with us last year. We have a 2003 Dolphin. Had to replace the Power Gear leveling control pad. Actually what happened is that it would not retract and I tried several times. Turning the engine off twice then it suddenly worked, but, when we got to the next stop the control panel was dead would turn on. Checked for fuses but did not find any out.

Had this issue too except with the power button that energizes the jack system. Took the control panel apart and it appeared as though when you push the button, it depresses another actual button underneath the pad. Further it appeared that when you pushed the keypad, that it wasn't going down far enough to fully depress the button underneath. My cure (on the road at the time). Took a 1 hole punch, punched a cardboard circle out a cereal box and placed between the key pad and the button underneath. Has worked perfectly since (about 2 years now). I guess that with use, some of the materials that make up the system compress. Cheapest fix ever.
