Power Gear jack problem (Surprise)
My story is that I've got a 2003 Dolphin 6342 LX that I bought last fall and I'm getting it prepared to hit the road in late March. One of the things I did was upgrade the Power Gear control panel from a burned out 500547 control pad and panel box to a 500731 touch pad and control combined.
It worked fine the few times I tested it and I thought, problem solved.
Now to today. Here's the facts.
- I push the on button and the pad energizes.
- I can lower the jacks and when I do the "Jacks Down" light comes on.
- I can raise the jacks, but the Jacks Down light stays on. The pad will not turn off and the jacks won't go back down. it freezes up.
- If I turn the ignition key off then on everything goes back to normal, turn the pad on and lower/raise jacks, but Jacks Down light stays on and same as above, pad freezes up.
- I checked the jacks and they all appear to be up.
- I checked the fluid level (with jacks up) and it's full.
- Next I pulled the plug for the fluid sensor apart and got 12+ volts to the plug. No continuity across the sensor. Jumped across the plug connection and still have problem.
None of the problem shooting I've been able to find addresses this problem and I'm at a loss for what to look at next. Are there any Power Gear buffs out there that might have an idea what to try?
I really think leveling jacks were invented to test us.
