Power Gear level jacks

And another one. 1997 Dolphin F-53 Ford. Jacks worked when I bought it a few months ago. Now, no soap. Levelers are "Powergear a Versatek Company". I removed the control pad from its mount, found one wire to the red warning light removed. Hooked it back up, warning light stayed on, jacks stowed. The touch pad was not activating the "ON" light but with it removed I see a mini on/off switch in the circuit board. It will sometimes turn on, mostly no. When on, push "down" on a jack. "ON" light goes off. I think the problem may be in the circuit board. If so-what then ? I have tried info@powergearus.com. Completely ignored me. Even sent a fax-no response from them. Wiring schematic anyplace ? As mentioned, they worked fine 3 months ago with the red warning light deactivated so something has happened.

To be candid....it's 17 years old....could be many things. Get a wiring diagram if you can find one and start measuring to see if you have proper voltages on the 12 VDC pins and see if you have "true" ground on the ground pins on the control panel. Bad (resistive) grounds cause many problems. Rook

See if the attached file helps, you can get more at Power Gears web site. Thd red light may be on because low fluid level or the fluid level switch is bad.
BTW, the correct address for tech support is PG.info@lci1.com and fax is Fax: 574-256-6743

Fax them and request their 4 page "electric levelers troubleshooting guide" dated July 2007. Also their 9 page "power gear leveling system jack identification" 04-28-11.

Might be helpful.

Try removing and cleaning the ground wire to the motor including the terminal post and reattach. That worked for me after excluding everything else. In the service manual, it is recommended every 6 months. I do not think that often is necessary, but every couple of years may be a good idea. Anyway, try that before spending any money.
