We are having trouble with our 2003 Tradewinds LE. The minute you turn the key and try to power the jacks the fuse blows. Paid an expert $$$ to tell me we have a short to ground somewhere and that we probably didn't want to pay him to find it. Therefore...after hours and now luck and I am now a regular at the auto store, buying more fuses we are no closer to finding it. We have tried to bypass the shorted wire, have had friend that has small motor training chasing wiring and still no luck. Can't find the shorted wire...could it be in the touchpad board itself? Cannot get to anyone at Power Gear, only have a menu that you can get to as a dealer, or we're calling the wrong number?
Any help would be appreciated.

Power Gear is very responsive to emails.
If you send them one now, you will probably here back from them before noon tomorrow. Depending of course on how many inquiries they had this weekend. Good luck. info@powergearus.com

Are your jacks electric or hydraulic? Does the fuse blow when you turn on the system or when you try to operate the jacks?

They are hydraulic...it blows as soon as you turn the ignition key. (That is the fuse under the drivers side window.) Any thoughts would be so helpful! Thank-you.

Ours were sticking, not to the point of blowing the fuse. A little grease in the grease fitting on each jack and they were fine. If your fuse is blowing before you even try to raise or lower them, you may have a short in the power lead to the controller.

Exactly...but we are having a terrible time locating power lead wire or short. :-( 5 days work x 2 mechanically/inclined men! This short also affects the air up/down function. Back to finding the short, would rewire if I could id power lead definitively...makes me crazy & tired!

Thanks to all who submitted input to our power gear problem. We now have power to the jacks, but are still chasing the gremlins. On a 2003 Tradewinds LE, does anyone know where or how the air up/air down dump is tied into this system? Or Not? Or is it another gremlin?
This is a really awesome site and again, thanks for all that helped. What a wonderful community!

Could your problem be water getting on the control pad or on the fuse block.
Had several friends that left side widow ajar after entering RV parks and receiving paper work thru window.
