I recently purchased a 2003 National Islander with Power Gear leveling jack.and am getting an alarm that the jacks are not fully retracted, when they really are.
Does anyone know where the pump and fluid reservoir is located on this model? I have looked high and low and can't seem to find it.
HELP!

The easiest way to locate pump is to run the jacks while someone is outside of the rv to listen for pump motor running--it will give location.

Once you locate the pump-check the fluid level with the jacks retracted--powergear uses a float sensor in the resevoir-and will show jacks down when actually retracted if fluid is low

If this is a gas coach, it should be behind the hood.

not necessarily---- on a ford chassis & possibly a workhorse too it's behind the front grill---need to remove grill on mine to access fill cap. have to lay on ground to unbolt grill. no fun!!!

I couldn't get my alarm to go away a few years ago, so after calling Power Gear with their recommendation I unplugged the sensor at the pump. Of course I still ensure the jacks are fully retracted before driving off. Much better insurance and cheaper than the replacement sensor price the quoted me.

Just for kicks, look behind r/front wheel mud flap attached to frame, looks like a giant oil filter can. Fill plug will be plastic and has a dipstick on the end, so remove with a cresent wrench, then you hand screw it back in just a bit to check fluid level. It uses Dextron transmission fluid, so screw a flexible hose on a quart bottle of fluid and add as neccesary. Good luck, follow the yellow brick road safely.

It probably will be located on the driver's side in a compartment just behind the rear wheels. Do not top off the fluid with the jacks down, only when the jacks are up. Also, take a good look at how the cannister is supported. On Nationals (maybe others) the tank can work loose and drop out. The solution is simple and depends upon how your bracketry has been done. I supported mine with a large SS hose clamp around the can and through a support behind the can.
