pressure regulator

Having some pressure issues right now. Looked at the '99 spec sheet to see if National used them in this era. Nothing showed up. Here is a pic of my water inlet. Does anyone know if this white plastic/rubber deal the water hose hooks up to is a pressure regulator?

If so, amyone removed it and installed an adjustable one?

Yes it is a regulator. Yours may have a clogged screen in it.

I took the guts out of mine and installed a full flow 3/4" whole house adjustable regulator. The original restricted flow too much.

Thanks, that's the problem I'm having. Initial inspection didn't look like this thing came apart. Looks like that whole shroud needs to come off. Guess I go out and take a closer look.

Yep, took the shroud off, removed the regulator. Took the screen out and cleaned, seen worse.

It was a Shure Flo 50psi. Decided I would just gut it for now. Not much difference, but neighbor said it's been fluctuating 20 - 70 lbs. Gonna hunt for an adjustable tomorrow and a gauge.
