Question Problem with the 2 gray water tanks

We recently purchased a 2000 34' Sea Breeze. It has 2 gray water tanks. One fills up real fast (2-3 showers will do it) and the other doesn't fill. When gray water tank 2 fills up, the water in the shower doesn't drain well or at all. Can anyone tell us how this 2 tank system works? Is there a way to switch to gray water tank 1 so that we don't have to dump every 2 days?

Thanks for any help

Janet

Janet, it sounds like a blockage to me, there is probably no way to switch the tanks, they should be plumbed in series, which means one will overflow into the other. Contact the manufacturer and ask for a plumbing diagram for your unit. Good luck...

The information I've seen indicates that National RV mfg is no longer in business, so I can't go direct to the mfg. Does anyone have a diagram for the 2000 Sea Breeze?

Hi Janet,
We have a 2000 Tradewinds 7350 that does the same thing. The tanks are plumbed in series with the kitchen sink draining into tank 1 which drains into tank 2 (shower & bathroom sink). The total capacity for both tanks is about 45 gallons. By the time you do dishes a few times and take a few regular showers you have reached their capacity. We have had to limit our showers to the "military" type when dry-camping to extend our time between having to dump our gray water. By conserving water and using disposable (paper) dishes, we have been able to extend our time between dumping to almost a week when boon-docking. Hope this helps. Safe travels!

On my recently sold toy hauler, it had 118 fresh 40/40 B/G. Who ever fills up a black water tank? I had a spare water pump and plumbed the gray into the black. If my gray ever got full(I like long, hot showers), I turned a timer switch to about 5 minutes and pumped the excess gray into the black tank. If I can figure out how, I'm gonna do the same to my Sea Breeze.

Janet,
We have the same model Sea Breeze. We have had it about a year and a half. My understanding is that they are two separate tanks not connected to one another. If you don't already have one, get a shower head that allows you to switch it off and learn to take military showers. The first time we dry camped we filled the tank on the first night... now we can go around 4 or 5 days without dumping.
Good luck with the new unit, I'm sure you will love it.
David
