First trip - on way out light came on & off until all went haywire & we changed all 6 batteries & now on way home it is doing same thing. What could be doing this?

Bad grounds, bad alternator .
For better answers , please post all the info no your coach.
More info= better answers.
If , from the " User CP " on the left end of the blue line across the top of the page , you go to the grey box " Edit Signature " and put your coach information in , the info comes up across the bottom of ever post you make and you don't have to type it in every time.
As mine does below.

Thanks. Didn't know why my info wasn't showing since I typed it in to join. We called a RV repairman we had used in Pigeon Forge & he told us to crank the generator. The lite stayed on so we pulled off at the next exit & called another 24 hr repairman who came & checked the alternator & all new batteries. Found 2 loose cables on chassis batteries. While parked there the dash lite went off & the hallway monitor said charged- showed 13.5. So we took off, gen still on & dash monitor now says low voltage 11.4 but hall moniter says charged & 13.5. Don't want to ruin 6 brand new batteries.

Your alternator is not charging and some setups have a feature that keeps the generator from charging the engine batteries while the ignition is on.

Push your boost/emergency start button and see if the dash voltage comes up. If it does just jam the switch on for now until you can get the alternator checked.

Leave generator on or turn it off to use boost switch? Every time we stop the battery volts go up.

Leave generator on so it combines the battery banks. The voltage probably goes up because the alternator is putting out some voltage due to a failure or a simple loose cable and when you stop the load is lower for some reason. Push the boost button and see if the voltage goes up. It is just fine to run that way until you get it fixed.

Thanks for all of the help. We limped to our next destination where we had originally had all 6 batteries changed by pulling off the road and turning the ignition off and the generator on to re-charge the batteries. We also had the boost switch duct taped "on". In the end, it was the alternator that was bad.
