We had just paid for a month at an Rv Park in Ajo,AZ when the main slideout failed to open. This happened once last year and replacing the"open" relay, ($5.00), fixed the problem. This time a new relay didn't help. The instructions on the motor say "slide the housing back to release the brake" This all sounded hard to do,so I unplugged the motor, stripped a little insulation from the two wires, ran a jumper from the battery and opened the slideout. I don't know if it will close with the switch, or if I will need the jumper again. Anyway, we are here and everything is under control for the moment.

Have you checked the switch. You can also move the main slide plug to the bedroom slide relay in your 12 volt compartment just foward of your entry door.

Thanks for the suggestions. I never thought of switching the plugs at the control panel. It helps to know more about these things. Last year we were here in Ajo and the bedroom slide broke. It had sheared a pin in the drive. We got it fixed in Conroe Texas, but they used the wrong pin. It broke again after eight cycles. Then we got it fixed in Salt Lake City. I knew, by then, that it took a special pin. I called the mfg. and they sent me some pins, not solid steel, but a spiral, like a roll pin only more windings. That worked.

lascar,

There is a fuse on the main slideout panel board, located in the bay area where the charger/inverter is. I had that fuse go out once. Hope that is the cause

The next time the slideout went in OK, and later It went out OK. I haven't suggested that my wife was pushing on the wrong switch. I'm just glad that it works.
