OK, my shower skylight in my 1999 TropiCal needs some work. The inside dome is warped (by the sun?) and I am concerned that I won't be able to get it to seal. You can see the wavy edges in the first picture......then, the curb it sits on has a rubber type seal that doesn't match the dome......I was going to use silicon to make it seal but now I am thinking perhaps I should just get a new piece of plexi or something and ensure a flat seal (don't need the extra 2" in height). Then the top would fit better, too. Any opinions?

Stepped on mine and broke it. Had an number of good suggestions from others. First, don't use plexiglass, use lexan (sp?). Second, be careful of using something flat as it will eventually get hot and form a collection point for water. Here is the link.
Replace skylight w/plexiglas??
Hope it works out for you.

Someone in the future might want the room if you ever sell. Have you looked for another skylight? They are pretty common are they that hard to find? Other than being warped---did it leak--if not if it goes back on it should be fine----can you warm it an mold it back into shape---hair dryer etc; ? Perhaps silicon isn't he best sealer to use---it is really difficult to remove later----a Dicor roof sealant may be better?
More questions than opinions-----and they are worth------whatever if they help---nothing if not.
Someone has done this before and will be along---until then at least you haven't been ignored-------hope it all works out for you.

This is the inside dome and the square one (last picture) is the outside one so I don't think snow load would be an issue. I bought a piece of acrylic and will return the silicon and get the eternabond tape. I am going to cut the sheet this evening, buy the eternabond tape tomorrow and finish this job! Thanks for all the wonderful help.

Use a peice of 1/8" plexiglass and put a new seal on both sides of it. You can get this seal material at Lowes or Home Depot.

The difference is only 2" and my hubby got in the shower and I don't believe it will make a difference to anyone sometime down the road. I have looked and called but even the businesses that say they have National parts don't have anything for a '99. I really don't want to have one custom made for big bucks when I think this will work. Not only is it warped, it was in there upside down (that is what caught my attention) and loose, with only the outer cover holding it on; no seal other than that rubber one and yes, when hubby was washing the roof, the water bounced up under the lip of the outer cover and ran into the shower.
I tried heating and remolding but with no reasonable success. And based on advice and prior experience, I am returning the silicon sealant and going with eternabond. BTW, our local WalMart doesn't have it, darn it.
Thanks to everyone for holding my hand as I discover all the little issues this coach has. I am proud to say that NONE of the coaches I have sold have ever had this many things wrong with it! Some folks just don't believe in maintenance, I guess.

ayotte,
I have a used complete skylight that I think would fit, from a '05 Dolphin. Looks like the photos with inner panel. You would have to come and pick it up though.

My inside panel is flat. O don't know if someone changed it before I got but it has never been a problem.

The inside cover does not have to seal water tight like the outer dome. You can replace it with a piece of plexiglass and use foam weather stripping to "seal it".
What you want water tight is the outside dome. What I have used is Eternabond tape to cover the edge and screws.
