Signed a contract today on a 2006 National Tradewinds

Inspector is going out next week to check it out. If all goes well my wife and I will be joining the club.

We are 35 and will be full-time living and working in it.

We found that it was owned by a previous irv2 member and were able to track him down and talk to him about it. This was a great help to ease our nerves.

This weekend I'll be installing the towbar and lights on our mini clubman.

In 2 weeks or so we will head down to Florida to pick up our new home.

The DW and I have had some problems with it, but anything that has some miles on it and used will be that way. But we still love this thing to death. Hope we did not steer you wrong. Enjoy.

We're excited. We talked to the previous owner and learned about some repairs that were done. EVerything looks good to us. It's got 2012 michelins on it and new batteries all around so that's a nice large chunk of the budget we don't have to worry about.

We will have to find a cabinet maker to help us build in a custom computer workstation for us. Once we get it we are going to do some planning and figure out exactly what we want to build.

Welcome to iRV2 and being a National MH owner. We bought a used 2006 Tropical and had to replace batteries and tires. So you are right you just saved $2500.

We are about 18 months from going fulltime. I am jealous.
Happy Trails....

Passed inspections with only 2 silly little issues that are easily corrected.

Got insurance today and sent all the info over to the bank. Booked my ticket to Florida to pick it up. In 2 weeks I'll have some pictures to show!

I've had my 2006 Tradewinds for nearly two years now and love it. I purchased an extended service contract (Easy Care) which I've used a couple of times. I bought the coach with 7,800 miles on it and it now has 15,000 miles. Issues I've had include leaking jack lines, rear camera intermittent signal loss, lounge slide motor. Most major items were covered under the extended warranty. I replaced the Goodyears with Michelin XZEs this year as well as the coach batteries with Trojans. I also replaced the Norcold 1200 cooling unit with an Amish cooling unit.

Make sure you register your VIN with Freightliner and take care of any recalls. Mine had an open recall on the steering box that was fixed at no charge.

Happy RVing!

Maybe purchasing an 06 Tadewinds - Comments??

Appreciate any comments on 06 Tradewinds E40 or D40 both with less than 12,000 miles.

How about any parts problems on Chassis or House? Any roof or structural issues known on these coaches.

All and anything helps…and your experiences…planning on doing laps of the US and putting miles on it.

Cheers

Del Hoffman
