Silicone sealant around outside windows

i have a couple of small water leaks around my side windows. i was
wondering how the best way to seal around the outside of the windows?

i notice that there is a black flat vinyl gasket around the outside windows;

how do you keep this flat gasket open so you can silicone around the window?
Is there a special tool needed to hold open the gasket so i can silicone under
this gasket?

appreciate any and all ideas and methods to properly seal around the
outside of windows.

If you loosen the window screws on the inside it will relieve the tension on the outside gasket. Visa Versa, if you tighten (just a little) the inside screws it will help re-seal the window gasket. I think National used a sealing material that stays flexible forever. Just be careful because you can have the window pop out if you're not careful. There is an article in MotorHome magazine either last month or the month before about which sealants work best.

Could the leak come from weep holes in the frame ?

Window Leaks

I just paid a local Tech to removed both the Driver's Side and the Passenger's Side windows completely. Then clean up the window's area. Replace the seals with clear RTV and replace the windows.
Both windows had small leaks and this is the best way to re-seal them to allow them to not leak anymore.
I live in Pensacola, Florida.
The Tech was the owner of Stewart RV Waxing. His name is Tanner and he does awesome work at a very reasonable price.
He also cleaned all of the oxidation off of my coach and resealed/waxed the entire coach.
It actually looks brand new. Telephone number if you are local and want this type of work done: (321) 312-5035.
