Have this problem now for a year which started when we camped out at Ft. Stevens SP in Oregon. The fabric on my slide-out awning had apparently stretched which allows rainwater to pool. There was a discussion about this same situation on the Monaco Owners Forum last year but I haven't read anything from any NRV owners so I'm assuming I'm the only NRV MH owner with this problem. There were quite a few suggestions from the Monaco's group but in my case since I couldn't find any beachball (small enough)or tether balls in my neck of the woods, I'm now carrying 2 4" PVC pipes that I put in when the forecast says it will rain (which most of the time, it will). Anyone here in this group have the same situation as I'm in?

All slide toppers in time will sag, had a 01 SurfSide 2 slides and now have a 07 SeaBreeze 2 slides. As far as the rain collecting I just rais the front jack a bit and the water drains off the back side of the toppers.

I'll give it a shot next time we go out. It is somewhat disconcerting knowing there's a puddle of water up there when it rains. There's been a few times I had to climb up and sweep the water out. Anyway, thanks for the tip, Richard S.

Good topic. My slide awning cover does "sag" when it has rainwater on it...otherwise, if extended and dry, nothing really noticeable.
If I KNOW there's alot of water on it, or leaves (we do the fall foliage thing in October) I go up on the roof with a broom and sweep it...and, if possible give it enough time to dry before retracting.
Howver, on the road, overnight rain, can't do that. (Climb on the roof at dawn to sweep), I just retract the slide. However, doing that, i try to refrain from making a short stop...sometimes whatever is left on the slide can get my head wet from the braking. LOL

I guess this is somewhat a prevalent problem and so far, from your responses and what I've read from the Monaco Owner's forum, there's quite a few solutions. It's hard sometimes but I tend to be proactive - if I know before we retire for the night that it might rain, I bring the slides in. I don't want it wet going home since I can't extend it (no space) to dry it out. BillArf - RV Airwedge is a good idea, probably will get one when I get to CW. Thanks, all.
