We took our "Oprah" yes we call our Sea Breeze Oprah.. long story.. out to Glamis this past weekend for her maiden voyage to the Sand Dunes. Unfortunately I beached her and got her stuck. Some nice guys pulled me out with their 4x4. So we are camping and on Sunday morning a huge sand storm comes in. We found lots of sand coming in through the slide out seal above the dinnette. In the short term i guess I will close the slide when we get the next sand storm but what do you guys recommend? Is replacing the seal difficult? Will that even fix it? Are there socks we can cover the gaps with? Is this normal? Any help would be apprciated. Cheers

The short answer to seal replacement is "Big Job". Our slide seals were changed at the factory, the slide had to be removed.

I am not sure any seal would keep out sand if the conditions were bad. Your solution is probably the best.

Conditioning the seals with 303 Protectant will keep the seals clean and pliable.

Yes, you should close it. Get some 3M masking tape, the BRIGHT Blue one that paint shops use that way it comes off without damaging.
Seal off where you don't want sand or dust to come in.
We have friends who go to Burning Man every year and that's what they do. Haven't had the opportunity/misfortune to be in a bad dust/sand storm to try it ourselves...thankfully.
