Hi,
We noticed during a rather steady horizontal rain storm last month in Florida, we had some (minor) water enter at the bottom corner bedroom floor. Upon checking outside during a short rain stop that the side rubber seals were facing inward, rather then out.
So I got the ladder out and manually pulled the side-rubber seals out.
I would have thought that the friction of putting out the slide, that the rubber would have turned and turned out, as do both the upper/top & lower/bottom rubber seals.
Are there any remedies to solving this, or just do them by hand to avoid any furhur water inside?
Thanks in advance, Eugene.

You can use talcum power in sock on seal for better slide on sidewall of slide and also polish the sidewall with a wax cleaning polish for slippery surface.
You can use your awning rod to fold the seal wipe so it lays flat on surface of slide.
Fold your seal at corner bottom and check that you have a goob on sealent to stop water from riding in at bottom of slide, some slides pitch downward to run any water to outside wall of slide.

Hi, this is what has already been done, Slide-walls have been waxed, and I use Protect-all sealant on the seals. Actually, I believe the fact that both the wall and seal are slippery, there is not enough friction to turn the rubber seal out. And yes, there is a gobb of sealant on the bottom folded seal, no water issues if the seal is facing outward properly.

We do not have an awning rod, because the main awning is auto. However, we are waiting on Camping world to install window awnings, hopefully the rod will come with them. That sounds like the ideal tool to pull the seals out.

I think I will just add checking the slide seals each time I put the slides out, another check list item. Thanks, Eugene.

After all the set up is done I go out and flip the seals as my last task. I also make sure that they are flipped the other way when I close the slide.

From day one, I have had the problem of the verticle seals at each end of the bedroom slide not flipping over when I run the slide out. My solution has been to stop the slide about 8-10 inches from the full out position and then go to each end (on the inside) and run my finger tips from top to bottom beetween the slide out wall and the seal in order to flip the seal over. After that, I run the slide all the way out.

Thanks, but on our model it's not possible to reach behind to push the rubber seal out, it's too close to the walls, especially on the forward. It'll be much easier to do it from the outside after the seal is out. And really it will only leak a bit inside if the rain in coming at a horzontal angle. Eugene.
