Slide Seal

Is there supposed to be a seal around the geared slide arm that comes out of the side of the RV? Looks like a large opening that could let in a lot of water during rain. There are a few screws around it as if there once was a seal. This is for a 2007 National RV Dolphin.

I think I have one on my 03 Sea Breeze. But it would only be exposed when the slide is open and then its underneath the slide. I don't see any rain getting in there. Can you post a pic.

It's such a huge opening without a seal there, that even with the slide closed if it rained a lot, water would get into that storage compartment. It's already happened with a light amount of rain.

There was (are) a black plastic "guard" that is screwed to that opening and it has a hole for the arm to go in and out of. I would have no idea where you could come up with one. You might try the guy at Quartzite who bought a bunch of the National stuff after they sold out. I'm not sure of the name of that business but someone who goes to Quartzite will know. Your other option would be to make your own by using a flap of rubber, like a piece of a heavy rubber inner tube.

That is what I'm explaining what was there. You could try talking to a RV repair shop and have them order these from Power Gear who supplied your slide out system. Sorry to say that Power Gear won't talk to you, only an RV repair shop.

Would you happen to have a picture of what it's supposed to look like?

Thanks, that helps even though it's a bit different than what we have.

If anyone has a picture of this for an 07 Dolphin, please post it.
