I closed the bedroom slide and went to close the main slide and it did nothing. So I switch back to the bed and it wouldn't open. No power. We called Good Sam's for mobile service and $245.00 later the tech knew nothing. He did show us how to close the slide manually. The Switch board was tested and it has power, batteries are brand new, both slides are not working at the same time so some how they are both not getting power, converter is working because every thing else is working, both motors are not getting any power. Reset the reset bottoms and just nothing. We are in Florence Arizona and heading to Flagstaff. Any idea's what can be wrong and know of any good places to take this too. Since we have already spend 245.00. Would believe that.

Don't know about your coach for sure but on my 04 National Tropi-Cal there were circuit breakers for the slides. My circuit breaker was located in the compartment with the converter and was actually behind a metal screen that had to be removed they were black, basically square with an arm that pops up and a red button to show it was tripped. I think the circuit breakers were to protect the motor and are on the feed to the motors only.

They operate on a fused relay. I have blown fuses, which killed both slides. Coach Net talked my copilot through the fix while I had my head in the basement with a flashlight. Have since replaced fuse with circuit breakers. Also found a loose connection at one of the motors at another time!

I would hope for $245 that those two things were checked. All I could suggest is to follow the power, and see where it stops. With both being non operative I would think it would be before the control, or the control its self.

I live about 75 miles form Flag, but can't suggest a repair shop. There is a Camping World near there to the west, for what ever that is worth.

Thank you. We looked at the compartment where the relays and the regular fuses are but don't have a screen except on the converter. We are going to call both camping world and Flagstaff Service Center and see if they can work on it and if they are familar with the National RV's. electrical slide system. I'll let you what it ends up being. Right now we are opening the main slide manually but we can't find the motor or shaft for the bedroom slide so thank goodness that is the one I had put in when it went dead. We have reservations for Tuesday and Wednesday in the Grand Canyon so we still may be doing this for awhile if they can't work on it.

This is something that you may be able to repair youself. There are two places to find fuses/breakers for your slide system. the first is the main 12 volt breaker/fuse panel that should be located near the main 120 volt circuit breaker panel. This 12 volt panel will have several slide control breakers or fuses....check these first. The other location is a small circuit board that might be labeled "rv custom products slide control board". On my coach, this board is in the basement compartment right in front of the main entry door along with the big main 12 volt control board and the converter/inverter. This small board has two 20 amp circuit breakers/fuses, four small black relay boxes [two for each slide], and a 5 amp fuse. I suspect that this 5 amp fuse is blown, since it controls all the power to the four slide relay boxes. Also check that the wiring harness is firmly plugged into this small board.

Hope this helps

Bill

Mine is under the carpeted "floor" under the bed. Not real easy to get to, but doable.

Thank You all the good information. We went to Camping World in Flagstaff and ten minutes later it was fixed. Now we know what to do in the furture. It was a 40amp fuse on the main board, second one in that supplies power to the slide board with the relays. These boards are located in the converter compartment next to
door. We got it fixed and there was a military Fam Camp right across from Camping World - Fort Navajo so we stayed there. I didn't have e-mail to reply until now. Camping World gave us an extra fuse, charged 60.50 to fix it. I am talking to the guy who charged us 245.00 which he discounted from 400.00 for doing nothing and talking to Good Sam's because they sent them out to us. I am waiting to here back from the guy as to what he will adjust this bill to.

I know this is off subject, however the facility isn't listed on the Military Campground web site. What were the facilities?

Fred, the campground we stayed at was called Pine View RV Park and that is how it is listed under Arizona. There are two in Flagstay. This is at Camp Navajo which is a trainning facility for all branches. They have dry camping in two locations some where on the post but we stayed in the full hook up. They have showers and laundry facilities. Andy is the camp host and I understand from him it will be closing some time in mid October depending on weather. It was 15.00 a night with water, electric 30/50 amp and then you have a dump station. Hope this helped.
