Unhappy Sofa Removal

Hey Y'all, Has anyone ever removed their jacknife sofa and if so, how many people does it take? It's 68" long and i'm sure i could get it out on my own, but what about whatever holds it to the floor?

It's got four bolt going through the floor. Go look under the slide and you can see the heads of the carraige bolts. The nuts are under the couch.

On mine it was 4 bolts inserted from the bottom of the slide. The bolts are black and not obvious. Mine are a special bolt (similar to a carriage bolt) with heads that are about 1 1/2 inch wide but thinner than the typical carriage bolt. BTW, the sofa is probably heavier than you might think.

I am thinking of doing the same and the BIG question is, will it fit through the entry door or do you have to take it apart? Can you take it apart?

I am looking at putting a work station for when we go full time. 18 months away and counting.

I took out hold down bolts by reaching under the couch. We then took off sides and back. This makes it much easier to move out. I'm not sure you can take it out without taking it apart.

If anyone is thinking about removing the sofa and going with two recliners, I have a surplus 2004 OEM TropiCal recliner & ottoman in cream leather. The recliner is no longer in production, and failing to find a matching used one, we bought two used Stressless recliners.

If its like mine simple First remove seat & back usually 2 nuts on ea side w/ total of 4 for seat ,4 for back. after that just remove nuts on top of frame, much easier to handle

Thanks for the help and advise as well. Haven't removed it yet, need to find a good replacement first. Thanks again Y'all.

National put the furnature in the coach then put the slide in. My Dolphin had a hide a bed and I had to tear it apart to get it out. So much for re-upolstering

Wound up buying a new recliner and captain chairs too.

Camping World sofa

We replaced our sofa with a jack knife sofa from Camping World, they have been slowly improving their furniture quality. No problem getting the old one out and the new one in. A few minutes on your belly with a wrench and you got it
