Solar Panel Retrofit
I would like to know a bit more detail on my panels. Does anyone know the brand of solar panels which came with the Tradewinds 7173 (2000). Any increase in wattage available, etc.

I removed my 5W panel, (which was dead and leaking) sealed the holes. Portable panels are used at home, and since we don't boondock, solar panels are needed.

Solar Panel Retrofit
I installed this 100watt panel to keep batteries up while in storage and on even a moderately sunny day does a good job.[ATTACH] This was the first upgrade I did right out the gate after my first winter in storage here in the Midwest.
It is a monocrystaline.

Where does it say that? A solar panel you can't use outdoors? If that is true and I'm not sure it is, I wouldn't have one.

I'm answering for Fred but I believe he meant watts.

It's not much larger wattage than the original it would probably be ok, however I would do a little research and if you want to use the original wiring I would try to find a Monocrystalline or a Polycrystalline panel. The Amorphous type are heavier and and much larger to achieve the same output.

In the owners manual available online. I also have one and is marginal as any shading and output drops to useless.
