Just read this thread. A great job on the remodel. We have a Sea View and was told we can not paint the bottom because they are that molded whatever instead of fiberglass. We had plans to remodel some - pull carpet out and redecorate some. We were going to put down vinyl or tiles and use throw rugs. We were told by an RV remodeling place that we couldn't put anything other than carpet down due to the slide would scratch it. We could cover that up with a throw rug. I doubt much will get done now since my hb has been diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease and is to where he can't do a lot due to memory loss and follow thru. We are Fulltimers and don't travel much but I would like to try pulling the carpet out and changing the valances. It looks like doing around the slide was not too much trouble - that area is where my concern is.

Thank you for the step by step pictures. They are inspiring. I too like the all white look, even the ghosting has an appeal about it.

Vegas dan I'm curious where you got your hair dryer from, my wife was dissapointed to find out ours was removed, also I'm considering a graphics update on ours, we have a local dealer but they are it, just curious what the cost of graphics might be?

This is the place Dan got his done at. They gave me a ball park quote of 2300.--2800.00 on my 2001 TradeWinds model 7390 without pics.

The Rv place is probably right. Out of everything we did the flooring was the most semi disapointing part. We used laminate as many others had done, however, out type of slide does not use rollers but uses skids to glide across the carpet. The carpet depresses and "moves" out of the way for the skids. The laminate flooring being hard does not give and ours became scratched by a couple screws that hold the skids in place. We compromised on this situation and have decided to leave the laminate in place scratches and all. We bought a really nice bound carpet from Lowes in colors that match our decor and lay that on top of the scraches so they are not visible. The laminate that remains visible now complements this addition. We simply roll up this carpet and stow in in the bedroom when the slides are in for traveling. If you would like more info on recovering the slide out "surround" let me know and I can email you some tips.

The hairdryer is a Conair unit that we got from Bed Bath and Beyond store. They only run around $25 and are a snap to install. Our graphics ran right at $2800. That is right at the top of the designs they do. Each design they do is unique as they design from your input and offer a number of choices. Of course color is totally up to you.

We just got back from a 4 day shake down cruise to Death Valley. No problems this trip and we had beautiful weather. I got to try out my new macerator and surge protector, they both worked, by the way. Lynda got to try out her birthday present our new Splendide W/D and it worked better that I expected, very quiet and got the job done. We towed the Jeep for the first time and that went perfect. Here's a photo of the combination.

We mounted the 32" flat screen Sat. Will try to post photo later. We are getting a new satellite dome, a Winegard to replace our existing obsolete KVH next friday.

Nice job on the TV Dan. Good spot to mount it. Too bad my 7390 doesn't have that set up, it would be so easy to mount a bigger TV. I'm stuck with the overhead dash area and am looking for a mount that will work without having to take out the cabinet door over the drivers seat when I install a 32". I'm going to move the 22" LCD to the bedroom.

Doesn't look like folks are interested in a Tradewinds Rally.

Joe

Since mine is approaching the stage that the graphics are sort of fading a bit and its already a two tone (White over Arizona Beige/Gold) I might think about this look.
I like that look also. I was power washing mine the other day and not paying attention and washed off some small piece of the front graphics.

sgt. Joe I used a projecting and swinging arm mount(Best Buy-$100).. with a peice of 1 by 6 screwed to the top of the cabinet, and then screwed at the bottom to another piece of 1x2 that I attached to the inside bottom of the cabinet...the mount attaches with a 2 lag bolts to the 1x6, I then used a peice of webbing with a snap connection wrapped around the mounting wood and T.V to hold while driving, it works great, I also built out a shelf at the bottom of the cabinet to be flush with the 27 inch flat screen, I didn't remove any cabinet doors but the t.v does sit proud of the driver's side upper cabinet while it is in the stowed position, but projects outward and angles toward either couch when set up.
