Started renovation on Tradewinds

We got our new to us Tradewinds home Sunday and I started the graphics removal today. Using a hairdryer to heat up the old graphics, I peeled most of the side from the rear to the main slide. I also bought a 7" variable speed polisher from Harbour Frieght and some 3M polishing compound. I polished the area where I removed the graphics. It's looking 100% better. It's going to take many hours and a load of Tylanol but it's going to be worth it. I'm talking to several graphics people right now for ideas and quotes. I'll try to get pictures as I progress if someone can help me post them.

Congratulations on your purchase. When you're ready let us know. Pictures are fairly easy to post.

I'll be waiting and watching to see how it turns out. My TW needs new decals also on the sunnyside.

Click on "Post Reply" above the "quick reply" box. When you do you will see a "paperclip" object that is the "Attach" button on the top menu bar. Click on that and select brouse. Find your photo's and load... I'll be on for an hour or so, so if you need more info let me know.

Dan
The foam pads for that polisher isn't listed on the Harborfrieght web site but if you call them and ask for item number 29281 they will sell them to you for $1.30 each, at least they did for me.
Keep scrubbing and it will look like new.

The top photo was taken on our way home. The bottom photo is where I started on the graphics. I'll take some photos in the next couple days of the progress.

I did check with them and they gave me a quote for a full body paint job including new custom headlights and tail lights. The quote was $26,000 .

So far so good. I've put in about 7 hours so far and have half of one side peeled and the front and back graphics peeled. I have about 1/4 of one side buffed out and it's starting to look good. I'll take photos tomorrow.

Looking foward to seeing your photos, I know first hand that it's a lot of work. When the job is completed it will all be worth the effort.
Good Luck
