Starting issue

Ever since I got my 2004 dolphin I have a hard time getting it started. When I turn the key is moans and groans. After a few turns sometimes it will fire up. I have had the battery tested and it is in great shape. Is it cause I am using a marine battery as a started vs a regular car battery?
Any other ideas?
Thanks
Pete

Deep cycle marine batteries don't have much cranking power. Some are made for starting as well but you should try a good battery with more cranking power to see if that helps. You could jump it from a good car battery to check it out.

Turned out to be a bad starter after all. The mechanic said he put in a gear reduction starter and that it should out live the coach. keep fingers crossed on that one.
