we're brand new to rv'ing and our 2006 seabreeze lx ... one trip and all went well so we're off to a good start.coahc seems to be well made and it was very well taken care of with only 16k miles.
been browsing this forum ... lots of great info. here's a newbie question ... how do you get those door steps to stay in when putting the coach in storage? i tried turning off the step rocker but as soon as i close the door the steps come out again. i'm sure it's operator error but any hints would be appreciated! thanks in advance

Welcome to irv2 and congrats on your new to you coach.
Have you close the door and operated the rocker switch? Steps should come in and when you open the door they will open to let you out than close again when you close the door. My switch will lock the steps out when camping and when your ready to leave you operate the switch so they become unlocked and now controlled by door switch and the ignition switch with key in ignition or starting engine.

You may have a problem with the magnetic switch, at the door jamb or on the door.
They are round plastic disc about the size of a nickel.

When we put ours in storage, I turn off the engine & house batteries with the disconnect switch (we have rocker switches for these near the entry door). With ALL power now cut to the coach, I can open the door &, carefully, hop down to the ground.

Because of knee, there is no way I'm hopping down.

I put a magnet on the door jam magnetic switch. The steps go up, then I disconnect the battery. (The steps are on the chassie battery.)

When you CLOSE the door the steps come out? They are supposed to come out when you OPEN the door, you have the wrong door switch or the switch is not functioning properly. The switch is a magnetic reed switch in the door frame.. Often found at the bottom of the outer edge of the screen.. You can use a compass to find the magnet then use a magnetic pick up tool to simulate the closed door by holding it at the equivalent spot. But the steps are supposed to either stay out (Switch on for new steps), not move (Switch off for older steps) or follow the door (Switch in the other position for both old and new)

If closing the door makes 'em come out.. You have a problem.

Not making fun of the OP's problem, but what I think might be interesting would be to watch someone who might have had one to many come back to their MH with this type of scenario and try to get in.
