Hi,

2000 Seaview. Noticed the other day I had forgotten to plug the unit in shore power so the house batteries were dead. I had been seating there for about 2 weeks.

I plug it in 120V. Next day still dead. Hmmm. I look at the sub panel (where most the 12 volt breakers are located, in the compartment just in front of the entrance door, with the inverter). The red light was on, so I pressed the reset switch, 15 seconds later it tripped again. Did that a few times and the result was the same. All this time 120V is fine, microwave works, etc...

Tried two different outlets from the house, two different extrension cords to the unit, same. Nothing, apart from the LP and gas detectors are on. Everything worked fine on my last trip about three weeks ago.

Anyone have ideas? Bad batteries? I recently purchased this MH and there are no date codes on the batteries. Should I try to charge the house batteries with a car charger?

Oh, one thing to add, on my way back fromthe trip, I wanted the TV, so I turned on the generator, but I ad forgotten to plug it in, so I just turned it off. Could that have affected a transfer switch somewhere?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, apparently this issue is resolved.

What I did is left the coach plugged in through the night and disconnected the batteries. To my great surprise I had a responsive step when I returned this morning, it seems the house batteries recharched even disconnected...

I guess the batteries were so low the LP and gas detectors were demanding too much and tripped the breaker? The step wouldn't even retract.

Everything is Ok right now.
Weird.

Eric

The step works off the chassis BAT. gas detector also LP works off the house BAT. sounds like all the battries were low.

I assumed that as well, but also thought that shore power would not recharge the chasis battery, but the steps work fine now that I have done so.

I was sure the chassis battery was not charged by the converter, or is it?

Mine charges both after a slight delay. Same with the eng or gen.
