Surge Protection Question

I wanted to address this in another thread but it was closed.

I bought the TRC 34750 seven years ago when I bought my RV. On my last trip I plugged into a pole got everything going (AC , etc) , then realized I needed to move my cord to the correct # spot. On the new plug the TRC unit started making cracking noises. I re-plugged into the original plug and had the same noise. The lights on the unit were flashing but never went to green. The camp ground sent an electrician out and he could find nothing wrong. I called TRC who were no help at all, does anyone have any idea what happened to my old unit?

I will be buying a new unit, probably Progressive from opinions on the other discussion unless someone has a better idea.

Our's also quit working after about 5 yrs. for no apparent reason. I replaced it with a Progressive unit due to it's lifetime warranty.

Probably just went out. I had one that did that so when I bought a new one I bought the warranty, which was pretty cheap. Now it gets replaced, not repaired, at no cost to me. I can't remember how many years, I think it is 5 but I would have to check.
