The switch!!

Hello again, this great forum helped us fix our closet slide problem in our 2001 Tradewinds 7370 so am hoping for an answer to a stupid question. There is a switch under the sink on the cabinet that looks like a light switch and when it is on a small red light comes on but we do not have a clue what it is for. Anyone know? What does it do? Thanks so much!

Mine is on the panel in the hall but my guess is Hot Water switch to Gas. On is Gas off is electric.

I guessing the water heater as well, Other option is tank heaters for cold weather camping.

If it looks like a house style light switch, it is probably the water heater electric. Mine is above the bathroom sink.

On my '99 Mirada, the switch is a small heater for the black waste tank for when you are in subzero conditions and don't want the tank to go solid with solid waste. Make be different on other RV's but it also has a light in the switch that comes with the switch.

I have the same rig and I am sure it is the water heater electric element switch. You can use electric or gas or both at the same time for faster hot water production.

Quite correct! When the red light is on the elements are heating the water. Be aware that these switches have a usable life as well. Mine was sparking when turning it on, replaced with a 20amp pilot light switch from Home Depot.

I have a 7390 2001 TW and the switch with the light by the sink is for the hot water heater electric heating element.

And DON'T turn it on unless there is water in the water heater tank...

Mine must be wired bass ackwards. When mine is on (red light glowing) I have made the switch to gas. Must have been assembled on a Monday.
