Touch up paint

Can anyone give me an idea of what color touch up paint I could use on the front cap of my 2005 Sea Breeze LX 8360. It is non painted fiberglass in the usual off white color. I'm looking for touch up paint that I can buy at Autozone or Pep Boys, etc. An example would be " 2002 Honda Accord eggshell " or whatever. I'm fairly color blind, and would prefer not to go and buy 5 or 6 different color touch up tubes, and still not be even be close.

Bill

Hello WSRG! Though I don't have the exact answer to your question, I have a bit of knowledge about auto painting that might be helpful. I recently purchased a 2007 Dolphin, and have the same question. First, I'm hopeful that someone in our group knows if, and if so, where, National posted a sticker on their RVs that includes a "paint code" (s) to identify the exact brand and colors of paint used on each specific RV. I preciously owned a Georgie Boy Maverick, and found their sticker posted within a kitchen-area cabinet. Short of that, any automotive paint supplier can mix up a paint to match a sample. Within the automotive painting business, they usually want the customer to bring in their gas cap cover door for paint matching. They photograph the sample, and a machine gives them a starting point, from which they can formulate a paint that is close. From that, they add different hues to bring the color into a near, if not perfect, match. Unfortunately, I do not know if they can make a dob-on type touch up paint from what they produce. I do know they can make up spray cans. Good luck!

Look above drivers seat in the little cabinet cubby.

My sticker looks like this, and shows the brown, er, I'm sorry, Adobe paint.

Not sure how that will help the OP though, as I interpreted from that post you are wanting to match the white gel coat?

Bill, This may be a round about way of doing things, but how about going to Home Depot and getting their white paint brochure and matching the front cap to the samples and then going to Auto Zone and matching the caps on the touch up paint. I would think if you bought 2002 Honda (as an example) paint it may be quite different from your front cap since they both fade at a different rate.
You could also take the Home Depot sample to an auto paint supplier and they could match it for you. Some of the guys at paint stores are so good they know every shade of white just by looking at it.

I finally removed the front hood, and took it to a Sherwin Williams automotive paint store here in Phoenix today. They had about 3000 paint swatches [ like home depot ]. It turns out that the paint that was the closest is for a 1988-1993 Mazda, crystal white, code UC. I had them mix me 1/2 pint for $15.00. Its almost a perfect match...maybe a tiny bit lighter, but close enough to make me very happy.

paint code

I wish I knew mine, several years ago, I remember seeing the paint code up in the cabinet, paint maker was Martin Senour, but since seeing the tag, it must have fell off. Don't know where it went! I found a person who has the same M.H. as I, contacted him and apprently his is gone. I don't need it right now but it is good info to have if one should.

As far as I know, there will only be a paint code sticker in motorhomes that have some kind of body paint...full or partial. I think most of the Nationals up until about 2004-2005 were gel coated only with body paint as an option.
