Transfer Switch

Has anyone replaced relays. In your Iota Transfer Switch?

Yep. Nope.

I replaced one on a Palazzo. I had to call manufacturer to find where they hid it in the MH. Mine was under the bed behind a panel. It was difficult to get to but manageable. Mine burned out when both ACs were running and I switched from DG to shore power. It's an auto transfer but it should never be done under a load.

Are you trying to replace the control relays in the switch or the whole unit?

My transfer switch started humming bad. After making sure all terminals were tight, I knew the humming was a sign that it was about to fail. I checked pricing on replacing the relay and contacts only, but they were more than just replacing the whole switch. I replaced it with this Model LPT50BRD 50, I purchased off Amazon. This version has DC contacts that eliminate the humming noise.

With all power removed, you can spray with contact cleaner also.

last trip in ours we tripped the breaker on the pedestal and when I reset it the transfer switch was humming louder than before. I turned the breaker off and back on. Much quieter after that.
