Mitch,
Most of the manuals you'll need can be downloaded from the appliance manufacturers. Same for the slideouts and controls as well as the inverter, generator, jacks, etc.
I have an 05 T396 that I bought last Oct., found most answers to my questions by reading and searching here and getting the Mfr. manuals.
My unit had 6K on it when I got it, had a lot of non-use issues that were solved with cleaning and lubrication. Some of the more interetsing issues I resolved:
- No 12v to the Galley slide area: Found that the connector to that area had a bent pin and no power. Fixed the pin and plugged the connector back in and fixed the issue.
- Intermittant 110V issues; Started checking all the brakers and was surrprised to find loose wires at the breaker and one wire cracked at the breaker connection. Tightened and cut back the wires and solve the problem.
- Surges in current when on generator power: Removed and cleaned the Inverter (Xantrex) with no luck. Had the inverter in and out 3-4 times with good customer support from the Mfr. Finally, charging current went to zero, looked for the problem by checking grounds and postive cabling. Eventually found there was a voltage drop across the 300 Amp buss fuse in the inverter compartment. Replaced the fuse and problems solved.
- Rear slide was intermittant: Found loose relay contacts in the inverter compartment. Tweaked the relay contacts and replugged the relay in and solved the problem.
- Slow retraction on the jacks: After using these for a few months regularly as I traveled, promblem resolved itself.
Most of the other issues I have had were easy fixes once I figured out how to get the Mfr manuals. A lot of the tips in this forum were very helpful.
Have fun,
Duane
