Hi All,

I recently purchased an 05 tropical 35,After looking it over I noticed that there were only seatbelts for the driver and front passanger. No belts at the couch or dinette. Upon doing a little research I found a NHTSA recall for National to install additional belts on a few models including mine, but apparently was not done. I am wondering if any of you have had this done, if so where did they install them, how many, what is the lenght and how are they are attached. It looks like we are on hold for a family trip untill I get this taken care of.

Thanks John

John,

I believe the recall you are talking about was to install belts at the couch. Our 2006 Tradewinds had the work done by National to install the couch belts. I never heard of anyone having an issue with belts missing from the driver and passenger positions.

When I was buying my Sea Breeze, we worked into the deal that seatbelts would be installed at the couch. The salesman told us there were none other than the front seats. He said he looked for himself. After making the deal, we went back into the coach without the salesman and were able to find them. I don't know why they were so hard to find but, they were there. My 7 year old found them. Check out this thread for more info:

John,
My seat belts are attached in the slide out area with large flat (almost flush ) bolts.
If you find this job too much to handle you might try http://www.sonriserv.com/ Sonrise in Escondido.

On my 05 Dolphin the seat belts are under the couch but there are no holes in the couch to put them through so you could use them. On the dinette there is a sign the states ( This seat not for occupancy while vehicle is in motion)

I am presuming the couch is on the slide? If so look underneath for large "Washers" that would anchor the belts. Our belts were buried underneath the couch.

To my knowledge NRV never installed belts at the dinette.

Fred

Thanks guys for your input.I know there are no belts at the couch or dinette, there are sickers at both locations that basicly say seating not suitable during travel, and the recall states that there is a shortage of belts. Are the belts bolted to the slide floor, does the couch fold-up bed interfere with the belt routing.Any more detail would be greatly appreciated.

On my MH there are four metal plug under the slideout. If you remove these plugs you see the bolts that hold the seat belts. I did figure out how to rought the seat belts but I put them back under the couch when I made the bed down. Its just me and the wife so we don't need them.
