Thanks for the pics. Would love to get that heavy boat anchor CRT out of mine but it still works fine so hasn't been a priority. I have wondered when the time comes whether to fit the new one inside the box or whether to use a larger TV over the hole as you have done, which seems a bit simpler.

I imagine the hardest part was getting the old one out of there? Seems like that might require the help of a couple of young, strong backs.

tv remove

Yep taking the old tv old is a bear
but the weight in the new one is so much less you get less rattle and it is 42? led smart so you can connect to the internet for free with it
Also it rides better up front
the hard part is making the tube carrier if you decide let me know and I may have someone here that can make one at a reasonable price.
Also I put my plugs behind the tv now and the blue ray in the left cabinet.
And I can angle it left or right and down to match where we are sitting

Some Questions??

Did you have to keep the power button on or took it out, Does everything comes direct from antenna?? You think with smaller TV 32" I would need a frame like you have?? :

Here are a few pictures of my 32" TV.
I cut the excess material off of the vertical side supports and turned the base piece vertical to support my TV mount. I used a stationary mount when I did it because I was reluctant to have a large item hanging over my head as I careened down the Interstate! I have since done another installation in an 03 Islander with this style of mount and it is fine. The TV is retained by 2 nylon straps when traveling. I stayed with a 32 on mine so the cabinet doors would continue to function. With the swivel mount that is not a problem. I also installed a sound bar and power sun visors, and also removed the plastic hump under the TV.

I have lots of pictures if you want them. Here are a few.

Just installed a 32” LG in the box with an added trim to fill the bottom 3”. I have pics if anyone needs them. Basically mounted a 3/4” plywood wall inside and the bolted an articulated arm to mount the tv 81/2 lb vs 75lbs. Good luck.
