I have a 2004 Dolphin 5355 on W22. Factory installed 600 Watt inverter powers only front TV/VCR. Manual mentions that an optional 2000 watt will power all outlets. Will this necessitate rewiring? Any help appreciated.

I have both the original equipment 600 W inverter and a Heart Interface (now Zantek) 458 which is 2000 W and was self installed. I did some extensive rewiring to accomodate the installation. The 600 W unit powers the front and rear TV's plus the assorted dodads like the tape player, CD Rom player, satellite dish black box, laptop computer and printer. The 2000 W unit powers the AC outlets and will handle the original equipment microwave oven. It also offers some advanced battery charging features. I moved things around a bit in the circuit breaker panel. I made no attemp to power the air conditioners since the load would not be accomodated by my batteries. The whole job was thoght out in advance and required some crawing around in the belly of the motorhome which is something my now 81 year old body could not handle.
Good luck if you take it on. I am pleased with the results.

thatll 2000 watt inverter will draw 196 amps (give or take 10), make ABSOLUTELY sure the 12 volt wiring is perfect. Yes, it might power all outlets, but may need a connection between inverter and breaker panel.

It will require substantial rewiring to the 110v system, enlarging cable size from the inverter to the batteries and adding more battery power. Did it myself four years ago.

Did the factory-installed 2kw inverters supply 120v throughout the chassis? My '05 came with the 2kw but only the TVs and the front passenger footwell outlets are hot.

Copy_of_RV_Inverter_Wiring_004 - iRV2.com RV Photo Gallery
This is the link to the Photo Gallery where I posted pictures of the upgreade to the 2000 watt invertor.
I rewired the RV a little, to break the 110 down to 3 different segments. Check the photos and Posts on the upgrade.
