Velvac 2020 Mirrors pivot issue

My passenger side mirror does not hold its position. I have tried using bungy cords to hold it. But this doesn't work very well.

It appears there is corrosion in the pivot point of the arm. Is this fixable. I would prefer not to replace the whole unit as it appears Velvac doesn't have arm replacements.

Have you tried calling Fleetwood or Valvac?

velvac.com would have the replacement, and you might be able to buy just the portion attached to the door. The mirror itself looks good.

I had sent an e-mail to Velvac. They said they don't sell the arm separately. Even though my mirrors are fine, I would need to replace the whole unit. It seems like its the only part they don't sell separately. Hard to understand why not.

Thanks for all the responses. I think I'm going to end up replacing the whole unit.

Is that first photo the underside of the arm where it joins to the attachment bracket--the pivot point for the arm? If so, there appears to be a hex nut under that partially broken dust cap. Could that be accessed and tightened to prevent the pivoting of the arm? Maybe a liberal soaking with PB Blaster will allow the nut to be tightened.

Yes that is a hex nut at the pivot point. Once it thaws out up here I will have to give that a try. Thanks for suggestion.
