To you Tradewinds 2000 owners: Does the model 7373 have a dual water heater, both electric and propane? I have only been able to use propane. Thanks, rivrduk

Do you have a switch that looks like a light switch by your kitchen sink??

Look for the switch Joe mentioned. It's a standard household light switch and will have a Neon Bulb in the same fixture if it's the original National Used. On the Tradewinds I've seen, the switch is visiable without opening any cupboards doors, ususlly right under the sink in the kitchen above the cabinet door. My 1999 doesn't have an electric water heater but Joe's and Dan's 2001 rigs do. So it just depends when National started installing them if yours does. If you do it will only work on shore power not on the inverter.

Some were mounted inside the cabinet, but those were probably add ons by owners. Just look for a switch.

I have serched high and low and i cant see a switch of any kind. The only thing above the kitchen sink is a ground fault plug. I can find nothing inside of the cabinet either, so i guess mine is like yours, it is only a propane fired water heater which is fine with me. Thanks, Rivrduk

I don't have a tradewinds but my 2001 Caribbean has the dual waterheater and the switch is in the cabinet under the sink and recessed behind the wall directly to the rear of the h2o heater. The wall has a hole in it so you can flip the switch. It wasn't easy to find when I first looked for it. I didn't even know I had it until I noticed the water was getting hot and the heater was turned off when I first bought the coach (last year). Lucky for me there was water in it and I didn't burn it up.

I found a switch in the same area that i replaced the one way valve, but i assumed it was another switch to turn off the power to the hot water, heater since i have a switch on the monitor that checks the batteries and the holding tanks also. It is a regular light type switch. I have drained the HW tank to winterize it and i flipped the switch opposite what it was. I hope it did not turn on the heating element in the hot water tank. If it has an electric element i am sure it is no more. Rivrduk

When I had my '99 Wilderness TT, it only had propane for the heater and then when we got the '05 Cougar TT,it had both, but I didn't think about it.We were camping and the propane literally blew out with a bang and I figgered we'd have cold water for the rest of the weeks trip,so oh well..One of the neighbors asked if we didn't have the combination and I looked at the specs in the manual and, sure 'nuff, there it was. After that the problem was finding the switch, which turned out to be a rocker buried behind the propane heating unit on the water heater.
So,that goes to show that they can be in weird places.

I have the same unit. In mine there is a switch in front of the sink with a pilot light. There is another down below as you said.If it didn't have an element it probably wouldn't have the switch down below.

I think i have solved the water heater problem from the plumbing standpoint, but i am still not sure if it is a combo water heater. I have found a switch attached to a box connected to the water heater tank. As you know you have to go under the sink, then remove a panel then one has access to the heater tank and plumbing. I took a flash light and saw the box and switch. I dont know if this means that it is a combo water heater or not. I have a heater switch on the wall monitor in the hallway. I cant imagine why there would be two switches . Rivrduk

You need to get the model number off you water heater and look it up. That will tell you what you have.
