First time out in our 97 dolphin and noticed not much water pressure in park. They had a restricter on the faucet so I didn't use the one we would put in hose. My question is after looking at manuals I don't know if the motorhome has a built in regulator in the plastic connection in the water bay, Will check faucets and etc for restrictions. Any info appreciated Patrick

Not sure about your Dolphin but on our 04 Tropi Cal the water regulator was part of the hose connection in the wet bay. I could find nothing in my manual that even showed I had one and had to remove the plate to see the type of connector they used. I had very low water pressure from day one and finally replaced the connection with one without a built in regulator and then run a good one at the faucet. Works much better now.

My 1997 Dolphin has a Shurflo inline pressure regulator.
In-Line Pressure Regulator (50 PSI)

It looks like this in my unit.

Since it is plastic and 13 years old, I have had problems with it leaking around the hose treads so I wrap the hose treads with plumber's tape.

The thingie at the campground was probably a backflow preventer, not a regulator. The law in most places require these.

That said, they can still cause a flow restriction.

I have found a growing number of cg's are using both backflows and regulators.I can't see any real problems with that unless their pressure setttings are less than yours.
The problem with my MH is that the hot water pressure in the bathroom and shower aren't too bad,but the kitchen is pretty weak. The cold water seems to be a tad better.

The built in regulators are very restrictive. I removed mine and use a 3/4" whole house regulator at the fauset.

At this point I think I'm just going to use a brass restrictor that screws on to the hose. Actually still trying to decide and found web site for replacement plastic that came on motorhome, but still looking. I'll post when I figure it out.

Your city water inlet should have a check valve in place.

When I removed the built in regulator, water would come out when I turned on the water pump,I had to put a on/off valve in its place, but now I have to open that valve up when we are connected to outside water,I would like to install a valve that is one way,but so far have not found one?

The check valve was part of the water regulator that I removed.

Our built-in regulator developed a leak on the backside. I walked into local RV dealer with part in hand, they had it in stock, they are pretty generac.

The reson I removed it was I wanted more pressure and I wanted the regulator at the post,to protect the hose and the moho.
