I have had my 1998 Tradewinds about a month and a half now. A few little things here and there to deal with but have been quite satisfied with quality of National,.but, my last little deal makes me wonder what they were thinking on this. There are two fresh water tanks coupled together and I filled them last week before leaving as always. The purpose for an over flow is so when full the excess water runs to the ground. I got to my destination and water was still dripping from the bays and they were soaked. After pulling the panels I saw the rigging. pvc elbows with barb fittings plastic tubing, one tee and about 5 clamps, a real trashy job. In addition the elbows and the spare cap had holes drilled in the top allowing water to over flow every where..I have cut the whole mess out and replacing with solid pipe. I am sure the drilled hole were designed for air to escape but 1/2 pipe would allow that. Any body besides me?????

They drilled holes in them because the tudes in the water tank go about 2 to 3 inches into the tank and as the tanks overfload they would syphin water out of the tanks. With the hole at th top of the pipe it would prevent this.

Now, I know what to do about the water syphoning out of my tank. I removed the decorative panel on the passenger side that conceals the tanks, so I could see how full the water tank is... Have a 2001 7373 LTC Thanks, will arrange another way to vent the overflow pipe.

Mine has pvc 90 degree glued into a slip coupling..I have never seen a threaded pcv fitting that would go beyond the threaded fitting.

Charlie, You are blessed. Nothing like having 20 gallons of water or so syphoned back onto the ground under the coach by the overflow... Makes for a real mess. Ron
