Wine bottle or soda bottle and cup and book rack? Just a guess cause my Discovery 38 has nothing like this.

Hey Mac, I pulled your rig up on the lot in Tx and I must say you folks sure did move up! Looks like a bar drawer, but cant tell how deep it is. Maybe glasses in the slots? You and Chris enjoy the new rig and be safe..

I looks like a bar to me. I'm not sure if the were using round decanters (the 4 holes) or rectangular one (nestled side by side in the slots) or both!

It is hard to distinguish distance in pictures but it does not look like there would be enough vertical space for bottles or decanters. My vote is for the good glasses or cups and maybe the slots are large enough for plates.

Yeah my vote is good glasses and plates. Great idea for a weekly post "What is this?" with a picture of some obscure thing, winner gets a campfire.

We have a 2001 Islander that we bought new in March 2000. That cupboard was designed to be a wine storage unit. We took the bottle holder tray out and use for miscellaneous storage. The holder tray just lifts out. Any other questions let me know. We have been through many problems with this unit. All are now corrected (knock on plastic). We had a problem with the roof and they gave us a life time warranty on the roof in writing. Not very good now. One thing you might check is your coach front hight. It is a low built unit. However most all came with the front hight not adjusted properly. We discovered ours was wrong just a few months ago. We were having porposing in front. I bought new KONI shocks and took them to Cummins coach care in Bakersfield. They called Country Coach which was still in business. They found the measurment was to be 16 1/2 " measuring at where the shocks are at. They adjusted the hight. Not only did this give better clearance at the center and front but with the new shocks I no longer have front porposing and a better ride. Funny thing is that it has been porposing since we got the coach but got worse. The Koni shocks that came with the coach may have been weak or bad from the start. We had 65000 on the coach when we changed the front shocks. May now change the back ones.

We had our 330 Cummins upgraded to 350 HP and 1050 torque. It is but a computer code change. Cummins Cal Pacific in Ventura did it for a $200.00 fee and 1 hr. labor. That was in 2002. Shortly after we also had the Banks system for the ISC put on. Takes it to a little over 450 HP and 1200 torque. We cruise up the hills.

Check your tires. We have changed ours out for the second time recently do to age rot. We had the same size 275/70/22.5 Hankooks put on. We liked the Toyos but they no longer make that size. You will find the Hankook tires are rated well by truckers and others. The Goodyears and Michelins are too expensive and there are some problem reports.

We are in the Dolphin club. There are about eight Islanders in the club. Three are 2001.
Now that the Islander has most all the problems handled, we like it quite a bit. The first two years were full of problems. Remember that "Cummins Coach Care" centers still have Techs who have been trained for the Country Coach chassis and are trained to handle all coach problems. They solved a couple electrical problems for us when no one else could. If your coach came with the chassis manual from Country Coach you have the hight specs given in there and all electrical schematics including wiring to the front Dash. We upgraded the radio and cd in 2001. Still have the 19" TV but thinking of upgrading to a 32" LCD flat screen by using a moveable bracket and just removing the TV and putting in a panel and having the LCD mounted in front and not set in. Saves changing the cabinet work. Hope you enjoy your coach. topartzer@yahoo.com

I don't know, the circular cutouts look to be too big around for wine bottles or soda bottles (though perhaps 2 liter soda bottles would fit) and the retangular openings I'm just not sure.

However tobacco tins might fit in those holes just fine.. Or jars of mints, and such.
