Is there a document that tells where things that we can't readily see are on the coach and how to get to them?? There are things like the water pump, and things you need to find for the walk around inspections,etc that are hidden away so that you can't find them and I just wonder why they don't have a book for each model.
I know there is an owners manual,but all it tells you is about things and not where they are.

There are so many variations of each model, it would be difficult to do such documentation for each coach. Most coaches have basic locations for all models. The water pump is almost always in the wet bay where the black and grey drains are, in most cases all plumbing fill, drain and distribution are all in the same bay. Electrical is a different story and is usually spread out all over the place. Often you find a 12 volt bay, a inverter/charger bay and battery bay. In addition there is a central power box, along with more than 1 location for 12 volt coach and interior fuses. Furnaces and hot water heaters are located where than they can be fit and not seen. If you look on the outside for the vents for each, you can then determine where they are inside. There are also hidden components to sound systems like a sub-woofer, however most other entertainment components are located in 1 or 2 cabinet locations near the TVs.
Most items are all logically placed by someones description, but not by most RVers.

Well,I've found most of the electrical stuff,the generator,the fuse panels,the plug-ins and the battery area(had to change all of them) and today pulled a couple of the panels in the utility area and all I found were a couple of tank sensors. Tried to open a couple more and the screws won't turn.. Sooooo,I'm going to try to take off the big panel on the curb side in front of the rear wheels and see what's there..I think that I'm gonna have to change the water pump as it's really weak and the water kinda pulsates a bit.They don't say in the manual what the model is,so I need to find it and see. I am thinking of replacing it with a new Shur-flo Revolution.

Hey Big Dog;
You are doing the best thing that you can for a new RV. Take off every panel, and look in every hole and crevice. This is the only way to find all of the components in your coach. It's actually kind of fun when you get right down to it, and you will be rewarded when you have to do some repairs yourself. The pump that you want to install is usually behind the water control valve panel, and is a great pump. Be careful when you remove the panel, lot's of screws and water lines. The pump has a filter attached to it, so you may want to relocate the pump outside the area where it is currently installed for future service.
Good Hunting

Your're going the right way BIGDOG. Open covers, take off panel covers. I went through my 38' Discovery the first week I had it , even though it came with a lot of books, and wrote things down and made sketches of fuse panels and breaker panels. There are six fuse panels and three breaker panels. I got and still get a lot of help from Fleetwood and Freightliner. E-mail or call the manufacturer. They have E-mailed me elect and plumbing schematics. All they wanted from me was proof of ownership (VIN). A very useful tool I bought for diagnosing elect things is a wire tracer. It is two pieces, one piece hooks to a wire with alligator clamp and sends a low volt signal thru the wire, the other is a little pointy superglue sized thing that makes noise when you find the other end of the wire. Fox and hound. Helps you find where wires go. You could hook the transmitter to a wire at front of coach and find where that wire comes out in fuse panell in back of coach. It will also tell you if the wire is broken. No signal at the end of the wire means a break. Also hooks to coax/tv, telephone so you can use it at home.. Like a voltmeter testing continuity but no wires. Mine is red, can't remember brand name but it was about 25 bucks at homedepot. Well worth it. Elec is my weakness.
Write it down and make drawings. Good Luck.
KC

Just reading your post and think I should have one of those wire tracers, do you know the name or brand in case it is not easy to find at home depot?

Hey pjtaxi Brand is GB Industries, Wire Tracker model is GET-4110T. GB also makes electric tools like pliers, wire strippers. I think I got at homedepot, maybe lowes. About the size of cell phone, battery operated tone generator with battery operated sensor. Two parts, also called fox and hound. Indispensable tool for finding one wire in a bunch and there are a bunch of wires on my MH. Slow on getting back to this web sometimes, got young kids, big old house to work on, and of course the escape vehicle to take care of.
Good Luck
KC
