We have a whistling noise, not the grill, while driving down the road. Does anyone have this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Hi, Those pesky noises can come from almost anywhere. I found mine came from the holes used for setting up the awning in the metal legs. Covered them up with tape & the whistle went away Don't ask about all the complicated crap I went thru 1st.
Good Luck, keep looking,
Ron

Our unit sounds like a freight train,up and around 50 mph, still thinking it might be those monster size mirrors, mounted out in front of the windshield

Ours was also the grill. When long ago when I took it into National they said what it was (the grill, needs to be filled in behind were the voids are), but it was not a warranty item so they would not fix it unless I wanted to pay 500. Suddenly the noise was not that bad, it became music to my ears. Mine only did it between 45 and 50 so it was pretty easy to not be in that range a lot of the time.

This was a known problem with 03 Dolphins. NRV had some kind of kit for the front grill. You can test for the noise in the grill by taping some paper over the grill and go for a shory drive then remove paper. The fix was something to go behind the grill to stop the "harmonics" when you got around 50 mph.l

I took a short black rubber bungee and cut off the hooks, wove it in and out of the centre of the grill - that stopped the whistle.
(and yes, that is the proper way to spell centre)

Mine whistles at 72mph (unless I'm in a headwind). My wife tells me to slow down at 68 mph so I hardly ever hear the whistle.
Seriously, it does provide me a warning that I am going too fast so I choose not to fix it.

One thing you need to do is pay very serious attention to the windshield. In my coach it likes to slide forward slowly and when it does it whistles.. Happened 3 times now.. I finally put restraint on it but I do not like doing that for assorted reasons. The problem is bad design I fear. but it's a common design flaw.
