I have kind of a strange problem with the wipers on my 07 Diplomat. Driving in the rain yesterday I was running wipers in the intermittent mode all of a sudden when they stopped they would only park in up position, tried it in the hi/lo mode worked fine but when I turned them off they parked in the upright position. Anyone experienced this before.

Water getting into the plug from the chassis wireing to the wiper motor can cause some strange problems. Dry the plug out with air blast and fill both ends with dilectric lube and reassemble. You can get dilectric lube from Radio Shack.

Redcrown, I had a similar problem, it turned out to be a bad ground. I could not get to the bolt without opening up the dash so I ran a new ground wire and fastened it to a different bolt on the wiper motor bracket.

I'll second that, I've had the same issue with my Seabreeze from day one. Once in a heavy monsoon not only did the wipers fail, but the relay for the fuel pump shorted out. My summer project is installing weatherstripping around the edges of the "hood" to prevent that from happening again.

Did you dry out the plug for wiring into the Motor and use di-electric grease to insulate the plug contacts from any further moisture problems?

While you dolphin guys are using the di-electric grease, put some on the brake fluid level sensor wiring connector (in front of the brake fluid reservoir). Also in heavy rains, I had an annoying ABS brake alarm that would act up everytime it rained. Turns out an ABS alarm is not necessarily an ABS problem - a low fluid level will bring on the same alarm, or in this case moisture in the wiring connector to the sensor. In the same rainstorm, once the rain slowed down, I couldnt shut off the wipers - more moisture in the windshield wiper cct., I put di-electric grease on that connector too.

Do the Di-electric grease and add some silicon sealer around the plug. I did mine 5 years ago and the problem stopped.
