I read about winterizing. Need help locating the drain for fresh water tank. My first winter with a RV

I intend to simply drain black and gray. Drain Water heater. Put valve on "Pump to inlet" and suck in the antifreeze for water lines by turning on each spiquet one at a time letting some go aNTIFREEZE GO INTO the p trap. I will remember to also open the toilet flush valve. Do I need to worry about some fluid remaining in the bottom of these tanks?

I think I understand this process but don't know where fresh water frain is. Also some old post talks about getting some antifreeze into the line that goes to water heater by opening that by pass valve for just a brief couple of seconds. How would you also get some into the line that goes to fresh water tank?

Also I read that if the furnace is on in this model there is actually a heat line to the tanks. Does anyone know how effective this heat line is and if impacts all three storage tanks? I can't see the tanks so I assume they are between the floor and the underside of the RV

I don't expect to be in a hard freeze but will be leaving Florida for St george ut area later in december and temps get down to about 20 some nights 40's 50's during the day. I will be leaving it there for about three weeks then return and begin traveling in the west and south. Don't want any freeze ups while I leave it for the three week period in mid to late december

The drain for your water tank should be located in the compartment where you holding tank valves and water inlet are located. Mine is plastic and looks like the valve used to shut water off at lawn irrigation valves. I don't think you have to go through all the trouble with using an antifreeze solutions for only 3 weeks in 20 degree nights. If your water tank is not full, it won't split. We have had weeks where the temperature gets into the 20's at night were I live and I have had no problems. I do not drain my water tank. My holding tanks are empty and I drain the water out of the water lines by using the outdoor water faucet in the holding tank valve compartment area. I turn off the water pump, open the outdoor water faucet which has a hose and hand held shower head (Also in the holding tank valve compartment). I lay the shower head on the ground and then open the indoor faucets. The outdoor faucet is the lowest portion of the water system and the water will drain out of the water lines.

As for the heater warming the holding tank area, yes, there is a heater duct going into the holding tank space under the floor. That would mean you would have to leave the heater on and I wouldn't do that. Because the tanks are somewhat insulated from the outside ambient air, it would have to get much colder the the 20's for a long period of time to start freezing things.

Well I parked my rig in Bunkerville, Nevada two weeks ago and am anxious to get back to it. I am in Montana right now.

Thanks to the advice I got from this forum I was able to drain fresh water tank, water heater , Black and Gray and water lines. I then pumped 2 gallons of proper anti freeze into the water lines.

I left the furnace on 40 degrees and had a full tank of propane when I left.

I am still concerned however that maybe I should have left the Gray, black and fresh valves open so that no fluid accumulated in the very end of the line which is in the Water bay. I keep thinking that the water bay might get to freezing temperature and that these pipes may burst at the drain valves. I put anti freeze in drains but had none for the tanks.

I have been watching temps in that area and the temp during the day is high 40's and as low as mid 20's at night.

I have the coach faily level and had to extend the jacks about all the way to do that. Its at a residence in the ouskirts of town and plugged into a 20 amp line.

I hope to be back there by Jan 11.

Thanks for your help and any thoughts
