Today I posted a problem that I had with the brakes on my Dolphin. I guess that I just wanted to vent to all the others out there that have the same problem. Workhorse has stepped up to fix the brakes for the time being. I hope that I will be able to use the motorhome enough to keep the bugs out of it. I arrived home this afternoon to a phone call from Mr. Leguyeer from Workhorse, needless to say I was surprised! He told me that he had been in contact with the Workhorse service and wanted to talk with me concerning the forum posting on IRV2 that I had posted. We talked about my problem and the recall, he said that he was hoping to have more information on it after the first of the year. He was very nice to talk with and very informative. I find it very lucky that our post are looked at be some of the large companies that produce the motorhome parts. I wanted to thank Workhorse for the repair and the phone call Thanks

Thanks for the update. It's good to hear something positive for a change.

You are making me a little nervous. I purchased my 2002 Dolphin 5342 from a private owner in July 09. The previous owner showed me his paperwork regarding a recall from an earlier recall on the WH brakes and had it performed at a WH dealer. Are you discussing this or something else I need to be concerned about?

wmaier: Congrats on your "new to you" coach! Since you purchased privately, YOU need to contact Workhorse and supply them with YOUR contact info in order to be notified when they mail recall notices, etc.

Call 877-946-7731 and ask them to connect you to the department that handles owner registration transfers for "second owners". They may need for you to mail in a copy of a legal document like state registration paper to "prove" you are the rightful owner. Please do what is necessary to correct their records-it is important!

To answer your question, Yes there is something "else" you need to be concerned about, and that is the "upcoming" recall to repair your brakes. If you come on down to the Workhorse forum below, you will find all sorts of good info in the stickys at the top of the forum, and also many threads about the recall. Basically, all W-20 thru W-22 series chassis WILL BE recalled "soon" and you will need to have repairs made once parts become available. That's why it is important you get the owner records updated, as I've suggested above.

gseefield...Thanks for the update. We own a 2004 Dolphin and feel like our wings have been clipped while we wait for Workhorse. We experienced the brake problem twice and are now limiting our travel distance to very short trips until there is a fix. From your comment it sounds like we must wait out December and not expect a fix until next year. I call Workhorse every week and only get the response that "there is no date set". Thanks again for your update.

I was able to register as new owner using www.workhorse.com I got tired of waiting on the phone which finally went to voice mail then followed their suggestion to go to the website.

I guess registering as a new second owner on the WH website, which was acknowledged and placed in a pending status, wasn't the correct procedure. This is the reply to a followup email I sent to find out if the change was in works.

"Registering to use our website DOES NOT register the motor home into your name. You will need to send a copy of the bill of sale, along with your name, complete address and phone number to: Workhorse Warranty, 850 Stephenson Hwy, Suite 510, Troy, MI 48083 After you are properly registered, please notify us we can then open up the website for you to register to use our website".

The website should have not allowed me to make a request in the first place if it's not the proper process. It should have posted the instructions instead of me waiting for them to make a change. Had I not contacted them it would have sat in limbo.

New owners beware.

Wayne, I don't want to hijack this thread, however I find lots to desired with the Workhorse web site. Things just don't move smoothly, broken links, identical input inofrmation required when following links.

wmaier, thanks for the information. We have been waiting for Workhorse to update online for about 6 weeks. We are sending it by mail today. Thanks for keeping us all informed.
